DIY Pillowcases | Gör-det-själv: Kuddöverdrag

When we painted our kitchen in white and yellow stripes, I had a hard time finding a fabric that went along with the stripes and didn't look to messy. Finally I settled for the fabric Picknick from Almedahls, that had that 50's feeling that suits our 50's house so well. They also sell dish towels, oil cloth, cutting boards, coasters and much more in this pattern. But to have it all might be to go too far, don't you think...?

I made three simple pillowcases that ties in the bottom with white ribbons. And I remembered to wash the fabric before sewing! There are many kids under the age of five eating in our kitchen, and the pillowcases need to be washed a lot... I could have used a sturdier ribbon though, the one that I used is made out of cotton and wrinkles a lot. Well, I try to tuck them underneath the pillows to that you can't see them. Problem solved! For now anyway.

My next kitchen project is to find a light yellow oil cloth for the table. If anyone have any ideas of where to find good and nice-looking oil cloth online, please leave me a comment and let us know!

Less is more :)
